Introducing, Cara!

With our team expanding so much over the last year, we wanted to make sure our clients and partners had the opportunity to meet each member of the UNBXD family. Today we sit down with our Administration Assistant and learn a bit more about what she enjoys in and outside of work.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF

Originally from Durban, South Africa I moved to The UK in 2000.
Growing up in Newquay, Cornwall was great, and although I loved the laid-back lifestyle I needed a challenge, so not wanting to do things by half I transferred straight to Oxford Street, London to manage a big team of people much cooler and savvy than I was!

After a crazy few years and working all over the city I realised this; I love the fast pace, I love conversing with people (the more different the better), and I missed the sea!
While moving back and changing my career by studying for a degree in Accounting and Finance, the opportunity came up to join UNBXD and I felt like this was so perfect for me - passionate people doing amazing projects with interesting clients.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I love learning new things. My favourite thing to do is pick up and drop new hobbies at the speed of light. I’m obsessed with good coffee. I’m a known workaholic, too. I love my little family (1 x partner, 1 x dog), and living by the coast. Lots of tiny fragments of things inspire me, I realised long ago that I wasn’t one for a single big passion and I tend to look for the joy in little things now.
I’m trying to get into fitness, so if everyone could send me positive vibes about that I would appreciate the help there…

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO AT UNBXD?

Returning to what it feels like is my roots! Growing up, my mum had this incredible career in marketing, events, and fundraising. I always had the front row seat to these amazing projects she worked on, with such creative people. In my teens, I started a casual hobby in web design (Geocities, anyone? MySpace HTML… I’m only half-joking), then e-commerce and marketing, then sales, then corporate, and then back again.
Being in the administration role means I get to assist anyone and everyone with their projects in whatever way I can - I love playing a part while the experts produce these incredible things. Everyone has been so welcoming, too. I already feel like I’m at home here.
