Team Spotlight, Sam! — UNBXD | Creative Digital Agency

Today we wanted to shine the spotlight on our new web developer who certainly isn't scared of being in front of a crowd, Sam!

You have been here a few months now Sam, so tell us all a little about yourself:

Hi, my name is Sam, and I'm focused mainly on project back ends and architecture. It's my job to take the brilliant work from the design team and make them a reality. I've been working in this industry for nearly 12 years now, have had various positions at different agencies, and I even ran my own at one point! It feels like I've landed with a great team that I'm comfortable with, and I'm excited about what we're going to be able to create together.

What motivates you outside of work?

My other main passion is Music. I have a BA (Hons) in Music, primarily focusing on the trumpet, which I've played since I was 7. I've played all around the world including the Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury and The Royal Albert Hall, and it's been a beautiful experience! Many connections that I've made along my music career have inspired my technical development, and I ended up working on apps for festivals like Glastonbury and Boomtown as a result. I helped set up a music venue in Bristol 5 years ago called The Jam Jar that is thriving; if you're ever in town, please check it out!

I can't miss out on gaming either; whilst I don't game as much as I used to, competitive gaming is what got me into programming. I absolutely adore some of the thought and love that goes into some games; you can't beat it!

What are you looking forward to at UNBXD?

I'm excited to approach projects without any technical limitations or restrictions. UNBXD rightfully agree that the best way to do something is the right way to do something, and as such, I'm looking forward to using the new skills that I'm picking up and how to apply them the most effectively for our clients.
