Background

Established in 2013, Waterside Wines is a family-run Wine Merchant based in the South of the UK. They believe that the world of wine is a captivating blend of artistry, craftsmanship, and storytelling. They offer their customers a carefully curated collection of wines, showcasing a diverse range of products sourced from renowned vineyards across the globe. 

Waterside Wines has grown both the commercial and retail arm of the business, signing clients such as ‘The Tandy, Sandbanks’

Concept Development

The brand was originally established in Barbados 15 years ago and after much success, decided to launch in the UK last year. UNBXD was brought on to do a full rebrand to increase awareness across the UK and make Waterside Wines a household name for wine lovers. 

Their new e-commerce store, designed mobile-first and created to enhance conversion rates and usability

Solution

Our approach was to utilise the wide skill set we have internally to bring Waterside Wines to life in the UK. Our work spanned across UI/UX and development, e-commerce, graphic design and copywriting. 

We understand the time and effort required cross-channel to increase awareness, so we also took it upon ourselves to manage their SEO, organic social media content, and PPC campaigns. Through consistent and varied social posts, website optimisations, and stellar ad campaigns, our PPC campaigns have now generated all UK retail sales for Waterside Wines!

Key Achievements

In the 3 months following completion of the project, compared to the previous 3 months, we achieved:

  • 117% increase in Users from PPC with 10,685 Unique Users

  • 59.86% increase in Conversion Rate

  • 50% decrease in CPC now sitting at £0.84

  • +100% increase in Revenue & Conversions

Subscriptions boxes and curated cases has been a big hit, improved reocurring revenue and client retention

Due to the increase in business, they recently opened a new warehouse and Christchurch, Dorset and teamed up with a fulfilment centre, Wave Logistics

Conclusion

This project had, and continues to have, a huge impact on sales and customer retention. The doubling in revenue and conversions, especially from PPC, now means Waterside Wines can start to plan their expansion via a new wholesale feature as well as an increased product range.
